TAWAL's EUR 1.2 Billion Acquisition of United Group's CEE Tower Assets
WAHL's Corporate & M&A practice advised United Group on the local Croatian law aspects of their EUR 1.2 billion sale of CEE Tower Assets to TAWAL. The transaction includes over 4,800 towers across Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia.
United Group B.V., the leading multi-play telecoms and media company in Southeast Europe, sold 100% of its mobile tower infrastructure unit ("TowerCo") to TAWAL. This strategic sale, valued at €1,220 million, allows United Group to delever and reinvest in its mobile network, aiming to roll out around 2,000 additional sites over the next 20 years.
TAWAL, the largest integrated ICT infrastructure provider in the MENA region, with a portfolio of over 16,000 mobile towers, marks its first European investment with this acquisition. The move strengthens TAWAL's presence in the European telecoms sector.
WAHL's Corporate & M&A team extends its congratulations to United Group on this successful sale. Lead counsel for the seller was Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, with local counsel Jadek & Pensa Law Office, Kambourov & Partners, and WAHL. The buyer's lead counsel was Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, with local counsel Kinstellar and ODI Law.
